The 41st edition of Art Basel closed on Sunday, June 20, 2010. This year, the annual reunion of the international artworld attracted more than 62,500 artists, collectors, curators, and art lovers from around the globe, a new record for attendance at the show.

This year, the 41st edition of Art Basel takes place in Basel, Switzerland, from June 16 through June 20, 2010. As the world’s premier art show, Art Basel marks the annual summer reunion of the international artworld, hosted by the city of Basel, which has been a cultural capital for centuries.

Once again Art Salon - a dense program of talks, panels, book signing and other presentations by figures active in the international artworld - will be presented every afternoon at
Art Basel from June 16 to June 20, 2010.

With the new Art Parcours program at Art 41 BaseI, the show positions contemporary art within the city of Basel in an unprecedented way, temporarily occupying iconic venues throughout the city’s historic center.

Since its inception in 2002, the Art Basel Conversations program has staged discussions about current aspects of the international artworld featuring distinguished artists, art collectors, museum directors, curators, critics, gallerists, architects, and publishers.

This year’s Art Unlimited exhibition features 56 projects.
The lineup of artists showing at this ambitious exhibition of contemporary art reads like a cross-section of leading figures from the international art scene in recent decades.

This summer the Messeplatz, sited directly in front of the buildings hosting the Art 41 Basel, will once again serve
as a stage for art projects in the public space.

The Art Film program at Art 41 Basel again features a varied program of films by and about artists, screened at the Stadtkino Basel.

For Art 41 Basel the Art Statements sector spotlights 26 solo projects by young artists. Selected by the Art Basel Committee from more than 300 applications, the participating artists come from 17 different countries.

The new Art Feature sector at Art 41 Basel focuses on the curatorial aspects of the gallerist’s practice. It will be located alongside the Art Galleries sector on both floors of Hall 2 and presents 20 projects.
