The 2009 special show highlighted ‘comic books‘ by artists. Bringing together various historical examples, from the famous works of Ad Reinhardt, to publishing experiments such as Fantagraphics with Mike Smith or Jim Shaw, the exhibition also provided a new outlet for numerous works by authors such as Gary Panter, David Sandlin or Lawrence Weiner. The exhibition, organized by Zurich based curator and publisher Lionel Bovier, working in collaboration with Printed Matter and Fabrice Stroun, thus offered the public access to a limited stock of prints (historic or contemporary) supplied by the editors or artists, thus encouraging a new audience for these projects via the exhibition setting.
